Suggested Use
The Magnet Bottle is ideal for demonstrating the three-dimensional nature of a magnetic field. Slide the magnet into the bottle and observe the reaction of the iron filings. Remove it to neutralize the field. Point out that Earth’s magnetic field is also three-dimensional. (Related concepts: uses of magnets; electricity, etc.)
