Suggested Use
Challenge students to balance the end of the torque bar on a fingertip. It’s nearly impossible! But slide someone’s belt into the notch on the torque bar and it balances easily! Note: Notch end up, fingertip on pointed end, belt in notch about 1/3 of length down from buckle end. (Related concept: center of gravity)
