P - NEWTON BEGINS
National Standards: B2
Overview
This Seela Science® kit helps children explore and better understand:
1) Flying Loop - how forces react to flight; upward push of air is stronger than the downward pull of gravity
2) Newton’s Third - Newton’s Third Law of Motion; when an object pushes or pulls another object, the second object reacts with equal force in the opposite direction
3) Spoonful of Sound - how sound is created by vibration; an object moving back and forth rapidly
4) Direction Cube - when objects move they must go in some direction; up, down, left, right, back, forward
5) String Thing - if the rate of vibration changes, then the pitch of the sound changes also
6) Pushy Air - how air resistance affects motion; objects can move or stop because forces are pushing or pulling on them.
